I suppose this section was supposed to say a bit more about the events of my life, but I also believe that you are what you love.

Biography
I grew up in both Texas and Florida, where I learned that sunsets are the sky's way of trying to compete with the beauty of flowers, and if you listen closely, the waters in the ocean are still singing the ancient song of the sirens. By the time I graduated from high school, I thought that I knew what I wanted to do; major in English and become an English teacher. While I'm currently at that point, I also discovered in college that I have a second interest--Classical Studies. In my first semester, I took a course in Ancient Greek, and absolutely fell in love with the language and the people. From there, I decided that I would minor in Classical Studies and major in it in graduate school. I have studied four languages formally at the college level, including English, Greek, Latin, and German, and I enjoy being able to pick up an ancient text and read it in the original language. This is not to say that I abandoned my love of literature; on the contrary, I believe that my two loves strengthen each other. I am now able to read the literature I love in the language in which it was first conceived.
